* No games next week 6/17 (Stars camp at Breslow Center).
Week 8 kicked off with the winless Pirates battling the short-handed Rebels. The Rebels skated out to a 3-0 lead and looked to have victory well in hand but the Pirates kept battling - they chipped away with goals from Matt Benson, Mary Murrieta and Richard Kramer and came away with their first point of the season in a 3-3 tie. Emma Roblyer factored in every Rebels goal, scoring one and helping on the other two.
The second Treachery contest was probably the game of the night as the Mafia looked to take down first-place Skullduggery. After jumping out 1-0, Skullduggery gave up the next 3 goals (2 by Jack Connor) and the Mafia seemed in control. Eric Kasl had other plans, though, getting the 2nd and 3rd goals, and Jon Rademacher got the game-winner to complete the comeback.
Tough night for Rory Reeble and the Vandals as they faced the first-place Mavericks in the Skill division. League scoring leader Taylor Dahlberg added to his point total with a 3G/3A night as the Mavericks routed the Vandals 8-0. Brevin Wiese got the shutout for the victors.
In the night's final contest, the Outlaws had a short bench as they took on the Marauders. Patrick Lowe led the way with a hat trick and an assist and Owen Novell added 2 goals and a helper as the Marauders prevailed 7-4.
** Skaters, plan to keep both jerseys in your bag each week ... you won't know until you get to the rink which one you'll be wearing that night!
